Conductive Education

  • Strengths of conductive education include that it encorporates music, group activities, follows a routine within a specific time period where the families feel that they get something out of it, and it has a holistic view of the child's development
  • There was one incident of a family reporting the conductor was being very aggressive with stretching
  • Important to tell families that it is a complementary / alternative therapy and to ask the conductor to set goals to focus the therapy
  • Conductors may have different educational backgrounds and philosophies and conductive education programs may vary significantly from each other.
  • Good to contact the conductor when you have a shared client to voice any medical concerns and to share goals.
